Description
Summertime: Gershwin’s classic song from his opera “Porgy and Bess”. When you hear the first three notes, you know which song you’re hearing, and I took this iconic motif and worked it through quite a few variations. The original is a lullaby, but in my version the baby wakes up and causes a bit of a fuss before calming down and sleeping at the end.

I used to play this as a solo spot with my band “Be Mine or Run” back in the 90’s, but have slightly altered the arrangement here and there, and above all have played it somewhat slower, going for a more heavy bluesy feel. I hope you enjoy it!
